City Chorus is a friendly, hard working choir, open to all with no audition. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings in the city and perform several times a year in beautiful venues.
Our musical director is Paul Ayres and our accompanist (piano and organ) is Philip Shannon. Our concerts feature top professional musicians.

The Isle of Man trip is in July 2018, with concerts on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th.
The Saturday 28th concert is at St George’s Church, Douglas, with the Lon Dhoo Male Voice choir. Rehearsal for this concert is planned for 4.30pm for City Chorus, with the Lon Dhoo choir joining us at 6.30pm, and the concert starting at 7.30pm. Lon Dhoo choir celebrated its 80th anniversary with a concert in November 2017. The choir performs all over the Isle of Man, and has won trophies at Blackpool and Southport music festivals. Their musical director/conductor is Wendy McDowell. An extract from their 80th Anniversary concert can be found here.
On Sunday 29th July we will either perform with the local brass band in the Villa Marina Arcade in Douglas at lunchtime, or just as City Chorus in the Methodist church in Peel in the early afternoon. There is a half-hourly bus service from Douglas to Peel on Sundays, with a journey time of about 35 minutes.
