Concert rules and dress code

Membership of the choir is open to all, without audition, but if in the opinion of the conductor (in consultation with the committee) any singer is not musically ready to take part in any public performance, he or she may be invited to sit out of (not take part in) the concert. Or if a member is incorrectly dressed he or she may be asked to sit out. Water bottles and handbags are not permitted on stage.

Dress code for women:  long black dresses, long black skirts or trousers; black tops with three-quarter-length or long sleeves; black shoes; and tights.

Dress code for men:  black DJs; black bow ties; white shirts; and black shoes.

Recording of concerts

Due to copyright law, we must insist that photographic, audio or video recording is not permitted without prior approval.

City Chorus is a friendly, hard working choir, open to all with no audition. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings in the city and perform several times a year in beautiful venues.

Our musical director is Paul Ayres and our accompanist (piano and organ) is Philip Shannon. Our concerts feature top professional musicians.
