Privacy and Cookie Policy

​This policy explains what personal data London City Chorus ("we", "us", "the choir") collects, what cookies our website sets, and your rights. We have kept this policy brief because we collect very little data.

 

1. Who we are

London City Chorus is a registered charity (No. 1084782) based in London. We are the data controller for any personal data we hold. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at enquiries@londoncitychorus.com.

 

2. Data we hold and why

We hold personal data in three contexts, all on the basis of legitimate interests:

Enquiry emails. When you email membership@londoncitychorus.com or enquiries@londoncitychorus.com, we receive your name and email address and use it only to respond to you.

Member rehearsal emails. Active members receive a weekly rehearsal email sent via Mailchimp. We hold member names and email addresses on Mailchimp for this purpose. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and members can also contact us to be removed.

Concert tickets. Tickets are sold via Eventbrite, which is the data controller for any personal data you provide when buying tickets. We do not receive your personal details from Eventbrite. See Eventbrite's privacy policy for details.

 

3. Cookies

Our website is built on the Wix platform. The following cookies are set automatically by Wix when you visit this site. All are essential — no analytics or marketing cookies are used. Cookie information is sourced from Wix's cookie documentation. We will update this list if our use of cookies changes.

  • fedops.logger.sessionId — session error tracking

  • wixSession — site security and stability

 

None of these cookies require your consent under UK PECR. We display a cookie notice on your first visit so that you are aware of them.

4. Lawful basis for processing

We process enquiry and member emails on the basis of legitimate interests. All cookies on this website are essential and do not require a separate legal basis under UK PECR.

 

5. How long we keep your data

Enquiry emails are retained in our inboxes for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. We aim to delete correspondence that is no longer needed on a regular basis.

Member details held on Mailchimp (name and email address) are retained for as long as a person is an active member of the choir. Members may also unsubscribe at any time using the link in any rehearsal email, or by contacting us directly.

 

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.

  • Ask us to delete your data (the "right to be forgotten").

  • Object to our processing of your data.

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.

 

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at enquiries@londoncitychorus.com. We aim to respond within one month.

 

7. Third parties

We do not sell or share personal data for marketing purposes. Third-party platforms involved in our operations are Wix (website), Mailchimp (member emails), and Eventbrite (ticket sales) — each acting under their own privacy policies, linked in section 2 above and in section 3.

 

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website at londoncitychorus.com. This version was last updated on 21 March 2026.
